As always make sure you stay for the credits, especially the mid-credits scene.Captain Marvel is a superhero film and it is based on Carol Danvers a fictional Marvel Comic character. I would not say it is a top 5 Marvel movie for me, but it still is a great time. Plus her friendship with Nick Fury lets you see him in a different light and the story of how he lost his eye is pretty hilarious. The special effects are great, the story is solid and she really is a character you care about. I think that Captain Marvel is a solid origin story movie. Djimon Hounsou reprises his role as Korath from Guardians of the Galaxy as well and it is pretty cool to see him too. Now granted he only has a small part, but it is cool to see him back. Speaking of The Kree, one thing that is cool about Captain Marvel is that it brings back Ronan the Accuser from Guardians of the Galaxy. You can tell right away that she is a good person who is more concerned with helping people than carrying out the Kree agenda. She is always looking to do the right thing, even when it puts her at odds with what her Kree orders are. Also, the special effects to make him look younger are truly amazing.īrie Larson who plays Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel is impossible not to like. He is more light-hearted, trusting and I would dare even say human than he is now. He is not the battle-hardened Nick Fury that we all know and love now. This is one of Samuel L Jackson’s best appearances as Nick Fury. Once on Earth, Carol has some help in the form of Nick Fury. The fashion, the way people talk and best of all the soundtrack are very well done and certainly make you feel like Carol Danvers is in 1996. The 90s setting is something that I really got a kick out of in the movies as will anyone who went to high school or was just alive during this time.
